With three of us sitting in the visitor gallery, and others waiting online to speak, the appeal hearing regarding the proposal at 127 Bannatyne ended before it began. The City's internal network was apparently down so the meeting was initially delayed, then after 45 minutes it was postponed.
The new date is Monday April 25th at 1:30.
If you registered to speak at today's meeting, you will need to register again. If you were not able to speak today and would like to speak on this new date, click here to register. You can speak via Zoom or in-person and have up to 10 minutes to give your opinion on this development.
In the meantime, please spread the word -- I submitted 227 letters/emails in opposition and more have come in. The deadline for submitting any new objections in writing is noon on Friday. I will submit the additional emails I receive this week on Friday morning so please reach out to your friends and neighbours to send an email in opposition.
This issue is getting some traction in the media. I had a 5 minute discussion with Richard Cloutier on CJOB on Monday and discussed the issue with a Winnipeg Free Press reporter after the hearing was cancelled today. Hopefully that will help us garner additional support.
